My Heart, My Soul, My Passion
The year was 1983. I stepped inside my first classroom, a 4th grade teacher at Cora Castlen Elementary. I was 22 years old. My portable smelled of school. With a splash of yellow paint and navy custom curtains, made by my mother, I was ready to make my way as “TEACHER”. I fell “in love” with teaching!
The year became 2003. The doors of Frank W. Breitling opened, and I stepped through and into my 4th grade classroom. I was 42 years of age. My new room smelled of fresh paint, white! I wanted my room to smell like school. With brand new boxes of crayons and shelves of books, old and new, it soon did. I was ready to make my way as “TEACHER”. I was still “in love” with teaching!
The year is 2024. I have stepped into my 4th grade classroom for the 42nd time. It smells like school, like children to teach, love, and cherish. I am still ready to make my way as “TEACHER”. I continue to be “in love” with teaching, for I know no other way!
